What is Glucose Vision?

Our Vision

To reduce the uncertainty of glucose level rises from foods diabetes patients eat, which can lead to severe illnesses. We want to offer users on the spot data about the meal in front of them to help make healthier choices.

Our Mission

Create a smartphone application that has the ability to analyze a users meal to return an accurate carb count and offer portion size adjustments to reduce their blood sugar fluctuations.

Our Goal

Offer the first smartphone application capable of pre-evaluating a user's meal portions to determine the amount of insulin they need to take, and improve the quality of life for people living with diabetes.

About Us

Who Are We?

We are a team of three 4th year Ryerson Engineering Students pursuing a major in Biomedical, Electrical, and Mechanical Engineering. Currently we are working with iBoost, an incubator zone at Ryerson University.

What Drives Us?

We are each passionate about improving the quality of life for as many individuals as possible through new innovative ideas. We want to apply what we learn in the classroom to make real impacts.

Why Diabetes?

We have many individuals in our lives with Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including family and friends. After learning what they struggle with, we wanted to help them and many others!

When Did We Start?

Glucose Vision came to life after the idea won an Innovation in Healthcare Competition hosted at St. Michael's Hospital in July 2019. Since then we have won 3 stages of Norman Esch Entrepreneurship Awards and have started early development.
